Patience is a virtue

How true is that? This evening I was at Safeway, in line waiting to pay. Unfortunately, there were only a few lines open, and right when I join the line, the checker closes. OK. Fine, I can handle that; so I move. But, the lady behind me and her kid starts complaining about how the quality of service, insofar that it wasn't ok to close when so many people are waiting. Whatever... she may be right, but it doesn't change that the line is closed, someone will open up another register, right? A couple minutes go by, and she's still complaining. So, she calls outloud to her son and says that she's leaving. Thus leaving behind her cart full of groceries in the middle of the lanes. Next thing you know it... another checker opens up. Sheesh...

Here's another impatient story...

I'm driving on the 580 E and it's around 4:30 PM. On the fast lane, there's a car ahead of me, and a car behind me. We're driving 60 MPH, which is quite slow considering flow of traffic. Fine. I'll switch lanes, right? Well... it turned out the car behind me, merged over to the 2nd laned, flipped of the driver ahead of me, merged into the original and sped off.

Nutty.
